Dr. Carolyn R. Weiss, MSc, DC
Founder // Doctor of Chiropractic
Born and raised in St. Andrews, Dr. Carolyn R. Weiss, Chiropractor is proud to serve her home community of the Interlake and Greater Winnipeg area. Her passion is patient education and providing superior service and quality healthcare.
Dr. Weiss, Chiropractor started her science career at the University of Winnipeg, receiving a Bachelor of Science Honours with distinction in Biology and Biochemistry; followed by a Master of Science, Medicine Immunology, at the University of Manitoba.
Dr. Sean Nagasaka, BSc, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Sean Nagasaka has always believed in maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle which sparked his interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. Before attaining his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States, he completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Manitoba. Throughout his clinical internship, Dr. Sean had the privilege of working with high level athletes which increased his passion of integrating movement, athletics, and healthcare.
Dr. Sean uses a patient-centered approach, aiming to empower individuals by helping them better understand their injuries to improve recovery management and creating individualized treatment plans to reach their goals. This approach not only allows patients to alleviate their current symptoms but also allows them to move and perform better once pain-free. In addition to chiropractic manipulative techniques, Dr. Sean uses soft tissue therapies, kinesiology taping, functional screens, and rehab exercises to address the surrounding joints and tissues.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sean enjoys spending time with his partner, golfing, skiing, and weightlifting.
Dr. Mackayla Johnson, ND
Licensed Naturopathic Doctor
Dr. Mackayla is a naturopathic doctor licensed in the province of Manitoba. She graduated from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), a 4-year program focused on medical sciences such as biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, and pathology. She has special interests in using Botanical medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine and nutrition in her practice.
Dr. Lorne Canvin
Doctor of Podiatry
Dr. Lorne Canvin, a home town Selkirk boy, is a graduate of Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, Scotland with a degree in Podiatric Medicine. For many years, he has provided podiatry services throughout Winnipeg, Selkirk and Teulon. He also provides a house call service upon request.
Dr. Canvin specializes in biomechanical issues such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, etc., which he treats with custom orthotics. He has developed a specialized work boot on display at the clinic.
Amanda Tataryn
Registered Massage Therapist
Amanda graduated from the L.S.R.C.S.S. in 2012 and continued her education at Red River College for the Health Care Aide and Health Unit Clerk achieving her Nurse’s Assistant in 2013. After working in personal care homes and for several family doctors, she decided to further her knowledge of the human body and enrolled at the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba to become a Registered Massage Therapist. Graduating in January of 2019, Amanda joined the health care team at Meridian Chiropractic and Health Centre. Amanda is enthusiastic about human anatomy and physiology, and massage therapy allows her to follow her passions at work, helping others live healthier lives.
Cori Simpson
Registered Massage Therapist
A graduate of Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapies, Cori has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2014. Being a part of the health care field has always been a passion of hers, and she strives to help her patients return to optimum health through deep tissue, therapeutic rehabilitation of soft tissue injuries. She has additional training in cupping and pregnancy massage. Cori looks forward to meeting you and helping you receive all the benefits remedial massage therapy has to offer!
Elissa Medwid
Registered Massage Therapist
Elissa graduated from The Massage Therapy College of Manitoba. She has additional training in Myofascial Release, pregnancy massage, Aromatouch Technique, and reflexology. She would like to pursue further training in Myofascial Release.
On her days off, you can find her in the garden, or spending time in nature – camping and hiking, which always includes their dog. She also enjoys travelling.
Whether it is managing chronic pain, recovering from injury, or stress reduction and relaxation, Elissa looks forward to working with you.
Logan
Certified Athletic Therapist
Logan Grzenda was born and raised in North Kildonan, just a stones throw from Selkirk. As a soccer coach and player for over 15 years, Logan is passionate about helping everyone be their best both physically and mentally. Logan recently graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. In 2019 he achieved his national athletic therapy designation and began practicing as a registered athletic therapist. When Logan is not working, you can find him watching sports or playing hockey. He has a huge soft spot for his massive 11 year old Newfoundlander dog – appropriately named “Newfie”. His family also owns Nessie, a 1 year old Scottish Terrier who loves to snuggle with him when Newfie isn’t looking. Logan is thrilled to join Meridian, and to serve the Selkirk area and become more involved in this wonderful community. When asked what the biggest misunderstanding about athletic therapy is, Logan stated “You do not need to be an elite athlete to benefit from the knowledge and training of an athletic therapist. We help everyone with all symptoms from low back pain to plantar fasciitis.”

Mercedes
Registered Massage Therapist
Mercedes is born and raised in Beausejour, MB and she graduated Massage Therapy at Robertson College in 2019. After college she decided to put down professional roots in Selkirk, MB where she has worked as a massage therapist in various locations. Having come from a family that suffers with chronic muscle and back pain, Mercedes understands the importance of self care and encourages her patients to be active in their own recovery. Specializing in deep tissue massage and being passionate about helping her patients reduce or eliminate their pain is what drives Mercedes to excel in her profession. In 2021, she opened Virtue Massage and has built her business on the core values of compassion, self care, integrity and cooperation with other health care professionals. When the opportunity was presented for Virtue Massage to join the Meridian Health Clinic it was a fantastic opportunity to be able to provide her patients access to other in-house professional heath care services. Mercedes is excited to be joining the health care team at the Meridian Health Clinic and looks forward to continuing to serve Selkirk and the surrounding areas for their massage therapy needs.

Office Manager
Renata has been a part of our clinic for over five years, working with all our services and knowing the clinic inside and out! Born in Bosnia, Winnipeg is now her home with her son. Her infectious laugh brightens up the office every day. In her downtime, she loves to take her son swimming or fishing and sleep in. If you need help with your insurance billing, Renata is our guru!
